Over the weekend, I finally read Josh Blaylock’s How to Self-Publish Comics: Not Just Create Them. I would definitely recommend it to anyone with aspirations of creating their own comics. While there are probably hundreds of books dedicated to drawing comics, there are often only a handful of books dedicated to the less glamorous tasks of comic creation. That’s definitely the case here. The only other books I can find were apparently published in the late eighties or nineties. So, this is certainly the most up to date reference.

Recently I’ve been reading articles in an interesting book that brings together an eclectic mix of media under the umbrella of exploring how massive stories are both created and experienced. The book is Third Person: Authoring and Exploring Vast Narratives edited by Pat Harrigan and Noah Wardrip-Fruin. So far I’ve read articles on such diverse topics as Doctor Who, H.P. Lovecraft and superhero comics.
